Facilities
Studio Floor
Our 81m2 studio floor is the heart of the facility. This versatile, air-conditioned space is equipped with a 6000K cool-running DMX-controlled LED lighting rig, acoustic curtains, full carpeting as well as a set of RGB DMX Par64 lights for colour-washing or dramatic use. Digital and analogue audio points are linked to the media control room through wall-mounted stage boxes and we have stereo monitors in the room.
We have a 25m2 reflection-free chroma-key wall as well as chroma floor vinyls, giving us a versatile and efficient green-screen facility. We also have a 18m2 chroma blue cloth rig and floor vinyls if required.
When set up as a video facility we have a matched pair of Panasonic HC-X1 video cameras which can be fed to a BlackMagic Atem live switcher with 4 video inputs, hardware streaming, programme and input stream recording, audio mixer, 2D DVE transitions as well as live green screen downstream keying. We have an online-access teleprompter rig which can be attached to one of the HC-X1 cameras.
The studio floor is the ‘live room’ when used as part of our recording studio.
The studio floor can easily be converted into a small cinema for viewings or presentations and is equipped with an HD projector, full stereo sound and a 6m2 projection screen.
Control Room
Our digital audio is routed through a Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820 unit which has proved itself to be a clear, transparent and reliable audio interface with rich sounding channel preamps.
The custom-built studio computer runs a variety of audio software. Our primary DAW is Ableton Live Suite and we are using a Behringer X-Touch as an 8-channel control surface; the touch-sensitive motor faders and clear layout make it an excellent interface to our recording software.
